Re: Anapanasati of Awakening
SN 54.8 does have: "I too, bhikkhus, before my enlightenment, while I was still a bodhisatta, not yet fully enlightened, generally dwelt in this dwelling [concentration by mindfulness of breathing]. While I generally dwelt in this dwelling, neither my body nor my eyes became fatigued and my mi...

mental image; If he [the jhana practioner] becomes much much more maturer than he initially was, then the object will arise as a pure mental image or uggaha nimitta. When uggaha nimitta arises, then the samadhi at that time is called parikamma samadhi. https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/uggaha-ni...

Black is not a meditation object for some reason. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamma%E1%B9%AD%E1%B9%ADh%C4%81na I read through the link. Another point interest me. Consciousness/ bright light and luminous mind. Seems like only bright light can be used as an object. Actually, it is not a physical b...

Re: How did Indians communicated with the rocket sitting in the south pole?
My understanding is people live in the earth can't communicate with the other side of the moon. The Chandrayan 3 lander is 600km away from the pole, on the side of the moon facing the Earth. So they can radio directly to it. But yes you're right this will be a problem in future missions, and so the...

Re: Hi everyone
I grew dissatisfied with Nichiren budddhism due to the not-so-honest behavior of its followers and the persistent sectarianism of the abbot and I decided to join my local Sri Lankan Theravada temple. Welcome to Dhamma Wheel! Keep your ideal as Budhha and Ariya Savaka's. Otherwise, you will be quick...

Nibbana was always there. It is not created. It is like the world before without the internet and mobile phones. Now imagine a state before all came into existence. This state is even before you were born many millions of ago. It is not you who attain Nibbana. When you eliminate self-identification,...
