Ciao!

Post by nirodh27 »

Hi, I'm an italian practitioner of the Dhamma (32 years old) and I've started to get serious about it in the last 3-4 years with meditation retreats and Nikaya study.

I've learned a lot from the discussions on this forum and I want to partecipate in the future, mostly by asking questions about pali translations and actual practice. My favourite authors are Ajahn Amaro, Thanissaro, Buddhadasa, Larry Rosenberg and Corrado Pensa.

I ask forgiveness for my bad English, i'll do my best to be comprehensible and clear when I will ask questions!

Thank you everyone!

Ciao! Sono italiano anch'io :)
Do you frequent Santacittarama monastery?

«He does not construct even the subtlest apperception with regard
to what is seen, heard or thought; how would one conceptualise
that Brahmin in this world, who does not appropriate a view?

They do not fabricate, they do not prefer, they do not accept any
doctrine; the Brahmin cannot be inferred through virtue or vows,
such a person has gone to the far shore and does not fall back.»

Nice to have a compatriot here

No, I live near Milan so it is not so easy for me to go to Santacittarama, but one day I will visit it for sure :)

Welcome!

:anjali:
Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.

Benvenuto! Sapresti, per caso, un sito in cui si possono trovare discorsi del Dhamma in italiano?

Certo :)

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-3Rwd ... VnA/videos

This is the A.ME.CO. Youtube channel (a Buddhist meditation center for laypeople in Rome) and there you can find some discourses of Corrado Pensa, the main teacher of the organization and also other discourses and Q&A of other visiting masters. If you like Corrado's style, just let me know and I will send you other material in Italian.

This is another Youtube channel of an italian meditation center, "Pian dei Ciliegi", the resident teacher is burmese, but they also host thay forest masters, I've liked a lot the talks of Ajahn Sucitto, if you plan to learn or improve your Italian those discourses are in English and translated in Italian by a volunteer sentence by sentence so it can be helpful.

Grazie! Conosco Pian dei Ciliegi ma non sapevo che c’erano discorsi scaricabili. There is one monk at Santacittarama who is Italian by birth and has some Dhamma talks recorded (Mahapanno?) but I have had a hard time finding more. Regardless I will check out your suggestions.

Ti ringrazio e ti auguro tutto il successo possible nella via del Dhamma.
