Hi

Post by Motova »

Hi, I'm Dylan. I started out with Tibetan Buddhism and did that for roughly eight years. I mainly studied Dzogchen with Chogyal Namkai Norbu Rinpoche and Phowa with Ayang Rinpoche. I transitioned to the Suttas and Theravada Buddhism because they make me happy. I think I'm just going to focus on building a solid foundation of refuge, the five precepts, the ten recollections, and Sutta recitation. I was mainly interested in Tara in Tibetan Buddhism, so I will probably focus on recollecting the Sangha at the moment and reciting Suttas about enlightened goddesses.

Welcome!

:anjali:
Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.

Welcome Dylan,

I too started out with Tibetan Buddhism a number of years ago before deciding to change over to Theravada .

I'm a Tibetan Buddhist/Qigong practitioner, but find truth and beauty in Theravada Buddhism as well. Theravada helps me stay more "morally" grounded.

May you fulfill your deepest wish for happiness.

Qigong is very, very powerful, when done correctly; and, yes, it can be used to developing the holy jhanas.

In my own life, Qigong has been amazingly powerful.

Wishing you love, peace and enlightenment. :anjali:

I changed my mind. I don't see much of a difference between sutta, sutra, tantra, and terma.

After reading enough suttas, I realized Buddhahood is very realistic for me.

I plan on continuing my studies in pali though... sacca-kiriya changed my mind.

Hey. How much is enough? Because... there's a lot of suttas.

Did you read the Sutta Nipata? Damn, that stuff is good.
