The present crisis in the Middle East is similar to the conditions of WW1... So WW3 could be right around the door. Stock up on supplies. Also, if WW2 is as bad as WW4, make sure you have a means of traveling in case you're in the country where people are being put into death camps.

Uhh... not to make light of the current situation in the middle east. But WWI was started because of the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary. And numerous political alliances that drew the various European powers into conflict. So I don't really see the parallels.

I also don't think we need to worry about WWIII. That was much closer back in the "good ol' days" of the cold war. What we're seeing now is people of oppressive regimes rising up to try and take control over their own destiny. I think we should just hope for the loss of life to be as small as possible.

Really? A grassroots movement to jettison brutal despots and you see nothing good coming from it? I'm actually optimistic that the people of these nations are going to finally taste freedom and with that the peace that comes with it. Of course the process won't be without growing pains but was there anything beneficial in the reign of Mubarak or Gaddafi?
