I read that, once there was a battle, and ppl ask Ven Sariputta which side would win, then Ven Sariputta gave an answer, but later it was wrong.
Is there any story like this in the sutta or commentaries... Or where did this story come from?

Re: Story of Ven Sariputta wrong prediction
I read a sutta last night in the MN where Sariputta gave counsel to a dying man on how to reach the Brahma realm, but did not provide the full teaching. The Buddha told Sariputta left work undone. Are you talking about something like that?

Hi:
I might be wrong, but i think you are talking about a story of Moggallana, not Sariputta.
In that story Moggallana with the divine eye saw that X tribe defeated Y tribe in battle, and talked about this. Some monks thought he was lying because that battle was far away, but the Buddha told them it was true. It should be easy to find the story with that info.
