Why does the abhidhamma have a different scheme of conditional relations?  other than the scheme in DO?[/list]BB footnote to Dhatusamyutta writes
"Since according to the abhidhamma scheme of conditional relations, the mind element and its concomitant contact are mutually dependent"
How can you justify this? Does it not go against Buddha's teaching?
Nothing in DO is mutually dependent, except nama-rupa-> consciousness.

As with most teachings it’s been stripped down for memorisation. Altogether there are 24 conditions.

DO appears to be about the arising of suffering (rather than about the arising of all things).
There is always an official executioner. If you try to take his place, It is like trying to be a master carpenter and cutting wood. If you try to cut wood like a master carpenter, you will only hurt your hand.

Cool, so I conclude from your answer that abhidhamma scheme of dependent origination is about the arising of all things,
  • which Buddha never bothered about.
If so, is Abhidhamma following the scheme of the "Sutta of the young Rice Plant" AKA Salistambasutta sutta, that refers to origination of all things, a Mahayana sutta.
Thank you DooDoot for bringing the truth home.
Now I know why abhidhamma is all messed up, a hybrid of Mahayana and Pali suttas, where we end up in
  • No man's land.
Interacting with you is exciting, even though you call me by all sorts of names.
What is may name this time?
