What is the 28 Buddha's concept?
Is it Mahayana or Theravada?.

Atavisi Buddha Puja is the offering to the 28 Buddhas who appeared in this world before Gauthama Buddha at different times over many many aeons. Gauthama in his previous lives as a bodhisatva (one who aspires to be a Budddha) met all those 28 Buddhas. They all predicted that Gauthama will one day be a Buddha himself.

Thank you Bhante.
Isn't this concept of past Buddhas and future Buddhas confirm the concept of literal rebirth?
Also dose't this contradict the concept of non-self.
This also a form of determinism.

I really feel that 28 past buddas are a matter of faith and sadda, while it may be better to cling to gautama budda for us to go forward
in marga phala.
