Are khandas in itself impermanent?

Post by devaloka »

Will at some point the existence of khandas dissapear?
Are khandas in itself - not the constructions that are assembled from them - conditioned phenomena ? Are khandas itself impermanent?

If all is impermanent except nibbana , is then the entirety of samsara also impermant? Meaning at some point it stops to exist and all thats left is nibbana?

:anjali:

Mere suffering exists, no sufferer is found;
The deed is, but no doer of the deed is there;
Nibbàna is, but not the man who enters it;
The path is, but no traveler on it is seen

Visuddhimagga CHAPTER XVII
273. Becoming’s Wheel reveals no known beginning; No maker, no experiencer there;
Void with a twelvefold voidness, and nowhere
It ever halts; forever it is spinning

288. Again, it should be understood thus:
(1) It has three links with cause, fruit, cause, As first parts; and (2) four different sections; (3) Its spokes are twenty qualities;
(4) With triple round it spins forever.

Much appreciated :anjali:

What is this twelvefold voidness?

A concoction of the Master Chef name Buddhaghosa. ;)
There is always an official executioner. If you try to take his place, It is like trying to be a master carpenter and cutting wood. If you try to cut wood like a master carpenter, you will only hurt your hand.

so the realm of samsara is permanent? Khandas are not divideable? Its constructs may be impermanent but the existence of khandas and samsara itself is permanent?
