Performing a wholesome action thinking unwholesome?
One of the monks mentioned above is unwholsome.
How about if someone performing unwholesome thinking is wholesome?
How about the action of a child not knowing whether it is wholesome or unwholesome?

You are not giving any examples. Robin Hood and a child killing an ant want to inflict harm and they know it. The unwholesomeness or wholesomeness is in the cause of the action, be it out of greed, hate or delusion or not.
