Buddha and Nibbana are two different things?
I just wonder whether Buddha and Nibbanaa are two different things.

Nibbana is not a "thing".

I ought to add a more concise answer:

Buddha is Sammutti truth, Nibbana is Paramattha truth.

Hi, SarathW, :anjali:

The reason why I said "Buddha is Sammutti truth" because the notion of "Buddha" is what we give to an supreme enlightened being called "Siddhartha Gautama" which is consists of five aggregates. While Nibbana is a "Paramattha truth" because it is unconditioned. And according to Abhidhamma, "Nibbana" is one of the four Paramattha realities.

The Buddha refers to Gotama the Awakened One not the State of Awakening .
Nibbana refers to the cessation of defilements . A State of Awakening appears compatible with Nibbana .

The Buddha is a symbol. A symbol of light overcoming the darkness. A symbol of completeness.

Mental fabrications of stories and ideas about him is mental proliferation.
