Quick to take offense

Post by cappuccino »

Well, Excuuuuuse Meee!

Why humans are so quick to take offense, and what that means …

Stephanie Preston says:
“The more attached you are to your sense of self, the more you see forces trying to attack that self. If you have a more Buddhist view, and are less attached to self, you are less likely to see offense.”

I think that this thread is your best of those you've started that I have in recent memory.

There is also past trauma. Coming to things from a "trauma mindset" will involve seeing things that are not attacks as attacks regardless if you have a big ego or not. The bullied kid at school sometimes puts himself in a position where he sees his school bullies everywhere. It's all he knows. Its his "normal."
What is the Uncreated?
Sublime & free, what is that obscured Eternity?
It is the Undying, the Bright, the Isle.
It is an Ocean, a Secret: Reality.
Both life and oblivion, it is Nirvāṇa.
