just a few side effects that already exist today and that could be resolved with more knowledge about Kamma, Heaven, Hell, Rebirth, Samsara and Nibbana.

"Surviving death"
Exhaling अ and inhaling धीः amounts to བྷྲཱུཾ་བི་ཤྭ་བི་ཤུད་དྷེ . (This is the esoteric essence of the yoga of continuous flow which is no different from the universal flux of materiality. Therefore exoteric natural science provides vital guidelines.) अञ्जलि वागीश्वर

Since 'letting go of life' isn't the common motive much energy may be put into fabrications of afterlife.

Verse 168. The Righteous Are Happy - Here And Hereafter

Rouse yourself, be diligent,
in Dhamma faring well.
Who dwells in Dhamma’s happy
in this birth and the next.

Image

Explanation: Wake up to reality; do not be delude. Live in accordance with reality. The realistic person lives happily in this world and in the next.

Verse 178. Being Stream-Winner Is Supreme

Than o’er the earth sole sovereignty,
than going to heaven,
than lordship over all the worlds:
better the Steam-winner’s fruit.

Image

Explanation: The achievement of the stream-winner is the primary stage in the attainment of spiritual success. The state is greater than being a universal monarch, or reaching heaven.

Since one can only live happily in this world it is realistic to focus on that and not fabricate another future world.

On the other hand the uncommon motive may be to let go of life as such and to experience the happiness resulting from that, neither in this nor in any fabricated future life.

Report on this contest on Brazilian TV..

After this report, the contest website was down

And what is undeclared by me? ... 'The soul & the body are the same'... 'The soul is one thing and the body another'...

Cula-Malunkyovada Sutta
You're confusing nephesh with psuche. Soul sometimes means life-force and sometimes immaterial mind. It could be said in Buddhism jiva is nephesh and citta is psuche.

right. In OT soul is just life force and in NT is immaterial mind. When the sutta says it can't tell if jiva and body are same or different it means if life force and body are same or different. Because obviously immaterial mind, citta, is different from body.

Thanks for submitting applications to the BICS Essay Contest. Due to the very large number of applications received just prior to the February 28 deadline, BICS will be processing applications for the next few days. If you have NOT heard from us by March 5, 2021, your application has been unsuccessful

End the counting of the mail-in essays!

This is a frivolous joke that can be deleted without objection if it rubs anyone the wrong way.
Then, the monks sang this gāthā:

These bodies are like foam.
Them being frail, who can rejoice in them?
The Buddha attained the vajra-body.
Still, it becomes inconstant and rots.
The many Buddhas are vajra-entities.
All are also subject to inconstancy.
Quickly ended, like melting snow --
how could things be different?

The Buddha passed into parinirvāṇa afterward.

when I was young, I met a ghost, with several others…

we were gathered in a field, near an abandoned house…

she was suddenly among us, spoke to us, then she vanished…

three decades later, I heard she was haunting a house…

the same description of the ghost…

when I heard, that confirmed what we suspected about her
