A very great monk who left a lasting legacy and helped bridge mindfulness and Buddha Dhamma in the West.
"Therein monks, that Dimension should be known wherein the eye ceases and the perception of forms fades away...the ear... the nose...the tongue... the body ceases and the perception of touch fades away...

That Dimension should be known wherein mentality ceases and the perception of mind-objects fades away.
That Dimension should be known; that Dimension should be known."

I hear the mourning of those who lost a father figure but hey, nobody keeps on mourning interminably, right?

What is the Uncreated?
Sublime & free, what is that obscured Eternity?
It is the Undying, the Bright, the Isle.
It is an Ocean, a Secret: Reality.
Both life and oblivion, it is Nirvāṇa.

I'm sad to hear this. I've not read his books or seen him speak, but the bits I have read have been most inspiring. A great man, surely!

He will always have a special place in my heart, as through one of his lectures I have understood that there is no coming and going.

It's amazing how one person by living a harmless/mindful life can have such an incredible impact on others and legacy he was an inspiration to all Buddhists.
Take care of mindfulness and mindfulness will take care of you.

I respect and like him a lot. But what has his interbeing explanation got to do with dependant origination he or others talk about?

Apparent here and now, timeless, encouraging investigation,
Leading to liberation, to be experienced individually by the wise. "

There is no "cloud". Calling something a cloud doesn't mean it truly exist.
We project "thingness" onto our experiences. This is ... and that is ...
I am ... and you/they are ...
