The Commentary to the Dīghanikāya (DA.ii.413) states:
Tattha visākhā upāsikā vīsavassasataṃ jīvati, tathā pokkharasāti brāhmaṇo, brahmāyu brāhmaṇo, selo brāhmaṇo, bāvariyabrāhmaṇo, ānandatthero, mahākassapattheroti. Anuruddhatthero pana vassasatañceva paṇṇāsañca vassāni, bākulatthero vassasatañceva saṭṭhi ca vassāni. ayaṃ sabbadīghāyuko. Sopi dve vassasatāni na jīvati.
  1. The female lay-disciple Visākhā lived to 120 years, so too did the brahmins Pokkharasāti, Brahmāyu, Selo, and Bāvariya, and Venerable Ānanda and Mahākassapa.
  2. Venerable Anuruddha lived to 150 years.
  3. Venerable Bākula lived to 160 years. This is the longest lifespan.
  4. None lived to 200 years.
Dictionary of Pali Proper Names wrote:According, to northern sources, Kassapa did not die; he dwells in the Kukkuṭagiri Mountains, wrapt in concentration, awaiting the arrival of Metteyya Buddha (Beal, op.cit., ii.142 f ).
Fruitless discussions among Buddhists will, no doubt, last a lot longer than 200 years.

neither a dying nor a reappearance
Yes the sphere is nirvana and one who attains Nirvana has already realized that the notion of somebody is a mistake. There is neither a dying nor a reappearance because there isn't somebody to die or reappear to begin with.

Not self is the Buddha's teaching. "Somebody has gone somewhere" is contrary to the Buddha's teaching.

Additionally, Nirvana is not a place that somebody can go to, to begin with, because nirvana is not even a place to begin with.

There is that sphere where there is no earth, no water, no fire nor wind; no sphere of infinity of space, of infinity of consciousness, of nothingness or even of neither-perception-nor non-perception; there, there is neither this world nor the other world, neither moon nor sun; this sphere I call neither a coming nor a going nor a staying still, neither a dying nor a reappearance; it has no basis, no evolution and no support: this, just this, is the end of dukkha.”

Simply repeating yourself doesn't change that.

Where is Maha Kasappa now? He died a couple thousand years ago.
