I found a discussion paper on this topic.

The title:
Dhammacakkhu in the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta: Does it cover Vipassana and three nan(?) as in the Commentaries?

Just sharing here. Might be handy helping us in understanding of Magga & Phala.

I have this question bothered me some time. Now here is my understanding...

So after all, it is true that with the arising the Dhammacakkhu, there disappear the three fetters and this bring upon Sotapanna Phala. The Sotapattiphala was attained with the knowledge arose thus: "Yamkinci Samudaya Dhammam, sabbam tam nirodha Dhammanti."

Just like how Arahattaphala was attained with the knowledge arose: "nyanam hoti khina jati, vusitam brahmacariyam katam karaniyam naparam itthattayati pajanati"

The moment consciousness of path or Sotapatti Magga Citta is immediately followed by Sotapatti Phala Citta in Abhidhamma too.

After the rainy season the sky is clear and cloudless. And when the sun rises, it dispels all the darkness from the sky as it shines and glows and radiates.

In the same way, when the stainless, immaculate vision of the teaching arises in a noble disciple, three fetters are given up: identity view, doubt, and misapprehension of precepts and observances.

According to the Theravada exegesis, the process of becoming an Arahat is therefore characterized by four distinct and sudden changes, although in the sutras it says that the path has a gradual development, with gnosis only after a long stretch, just as the ocean has a gradual shelf, a gradual inclination with a sudden drop only after a long stretch.
