"ñāyassa adhigamāya" means "the attainment of the right method".

"ñāyassa adhigamāya" is found in many suttas, here: "214 results for ñāyassa adhigamāya".

However, MN 10 & DN 22 commonly cause dispute about the right method. Monks such as Bhikkhus Buddhadasa & Sujato expressed skepticism towards MN 10 & DN 22. For example, MN 118 explains the practise of four satipatthana, each with knowing of breathing thus concentration & no hindrances in every step & stage. Where as many followers of MN 10 & DN 22 believe their hindrances & defiled thoughts are objects of satipatthana. If hindrances & defiled thoughts are embraced as fitting meditation objects, this does not sound like the "the attainment of the right method" to me.

Kind regards

It's "for reaching the right path".

Thanks.
But there are various translations.
So we have to find the real meaning.
What is etymology?

[The Pali word ñāya is a bit tricky to translate. It’s not all that common, but it’s used in a few significant passages, so clearly it is a meaningful doctrinal term.

It’s from ni + i so there’s a sense of “going, proceeding” to it. It’s used much more commonly in later texts in the sense of “logic, reason, logical principle”. However the exact nuance in the early texts is not obvious.

Here they are, with the Pali, a reference (usually only one of several occurrences), and translations by myself and (usually) Ven Bodhi. I start with the simplest senses./quote]
