Anumodana means rejoicing ? Appreciating ? Approving ? Or inviting others to rejoice in our good deeds and cause ?

It's the noun from anumodati. I don't think it has the sense of inviting others; it is appreciation of the deeds of others. Often the appreciation of monastics upon being given dāna. They are I believe appreciative of the givers merit.

In informal, it can means
"thank you", like "thanks".

In some modern Asian languages it's used similarly to "thank you" but I have never noticed it used like that in Pali.
