Looking to take refuge in theravada tradition

Post by tmt93 »

Hi. Im leaving the Tibetan tradtion which Ive been a part of for some years. Im looking to start over so to speak. Id like to take the refuge and 5 precepts in this tradition. Is it possible that any of the bhikkus here,( I believe some participate on this forum), could offer them to me online?

I hope that a monk from this forum will contact you.
In any case if you can't find one, the following video provide taking refuge with Ajahn Brahm.

Me too I have practiced with Tibetan tradition groups and Zen groups but have moved more toward Theravada recently.

Woops messed up trying to fix quotes on post above. Anyhow. I feel like an orphan now. My heart is a bit heavy. Those closest to me were dharma siblings in that tradition. But thats just not my path. Alas. What can be done.

At this time Im thinking its better for me not to rush into formally taking refuge and precepts with anyone but to just use the liturgy and do it myself. Maybe the mods could lock the thread or delete it, so that none of the venerables time is wasted reaching out.
