Wikipedia gives 26th May 2021 as B.E. 2565
The Forest Sangha year planner gives 2021 as 2564, but presumably that means that January was in 2564 and that the new Buddhist year of 2565 begins in May?

Happy Vesak !

Vesak day: The Buddha was born under the Ashoka tree, attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, and died under the Sala tree. These three different trees seem to have some symbolic religious connection with the Buddha and Buddhism.

Re: Happy Vesak Day!!! 2021 - 2565
I do some web-searches about the Ashoka and Sal (Sala) trees in connection with the Buddha’s birth place.
It becomes confused whether the Buddha’s mother (Queen Māyā of Sakya) gave birth to the Buddha while grasping the branch of a Sal tree or an Ashoka tree (in a garden in Lumbini in south Nepal, while en route to her grandfather’s kingdom)?
Does anyone know for sure the Buddha was born under the Ashoka tree or the Sal tree? Thanks.
