,I've seen pictures of some Theravadan monk in Thailand, and even Burma, occasionally having mala beads. What sort of chanting or recitation they used for in a Theravadan context?
I realize it may end up being a less than orthodox practice, but I'm just curious...preferably from someone who's had direct exposure to this practice.
