Monks only with a yellow thread?
It appears in the future after the degeneration of Dhamma only the monks are identified by a person ties a yellow thread to his wrist.
What is the Sutta reference for this? Perhaps it is in Dhathu Vibhanga Sutta.

"In times to come there will be members of the spiritual family merely by virtue of wearing ocher cloth around their necks; but they are unethical and of bad character. People will give gifts to those unethical people in the name of the Saṅgha. Even then, I say, a religious donation bestowed on the Saṅgha is incalculable and immeasurable. But I say that there is no way a personal offering can be more fruitful than one bestowed on a Saṅgha."

Where does it say they wear it around their neck (what is the Pali word for neck)?
Not surprisingly perhaps this has been translated to Sinhalese as a thread around the fingers.

Not sure if the phenomenon where monks with yellow thread are here already or not..but certainly many other forms appeared in the world. Soon, the Buddha Sasana will fall.

really bad. no wonder buddhism is destroyed from inside... people can defeat fake buddhism in debate (like lgbqt monk talking about soul identity) but real buddhism cant be defeated and its very rare at least one truth religion is still there... we should protect true buddhism and donate so much to expand true buddhism. as laypeople this is one thing we must do .. we should keep buddhist monasteries following vinaya fully funded as much as possible ...

I agreed with you that Buddhism will be destroyed from within. Too many corrupted 'monks' and run-of-the-mill 'Buddhist' societies. And there is no governing body to rule out those 'monks' and 'socieities'. Soon we can no longer know which is true Buddhist temple and which is not.

Sometimes, I just apply "Upekkha" in everything related to Buddhism. That's why I seldom involve myself in any Lay Buddhist society or monastery.

Too many weird stuffs in the world.

Not only Asian monks, western monk can be really troublesome too.

Phra Julian, known for his generosity and kindness.

Seem to be a good monk.

But then he admitted that he loved three girls. Only hooked up with two of them (as a monk). Later he was disrobed and Thai villagers that supported him all this time with requisites and Dana were shocked and disappointed. All their Dana in the past weren't fruitful at all and wasted.

If you want to compare the fruit of this Sangha Dana to the level of Dana for regular person, then it can be said fruitful.

But a Dana for Sangha member should yield the best result of all. Certainly this faulty monk has "robbed the pious devotees."

Arahat Upaska from Sri Lanka. Married practicing doctor.
He claims it is Ok to have sexual experience as far as not being attached to it.
According to him, there is no difference between sex and eating food.

I can't find much wrong with his teaching except he claims he is an arahant and his wrong views.
He got a large following.

But here wasn't make Dana to Sangha (as a whole), just Phra Julian.

For my case, for many years when I make Dana to a particular monk, I would say "it is for the Sangha", taking the particular monk as mere symbol for the Sangha community.

Then, either he was insane or innately evil, desperate to cause downfall to Buddhism.

This Sutta might as well refute his claim once and for all. Much demerits accumulated by him, by defaming Buddha, Dhamma, and Sangha in such a way.
