Asana Siddhi: 2.5 / 3 / 3.5 hrs / or 3 h 36 m / 12 h ?

being absolutely comfortable (in a stable manner without movement) ... in a position with duration of:

2.5 h 3 h
  • Once a Yogi can sit in a posture steadily without any effort for a duration of three hours, he is said to have attained Asana Siddhi. However, advanced Yogis can sit in a posture for days.

"you must be able to sit in one meditation asana for a full three hours at a stretch without the body shaking. Then only you will gain true asana siddhi (mastery over the asana) and be able to practice the higher stages of pranayama and dhyana. Without securing a steady asana, you cannot progress well in meditation.

3.5 h 3 h 36 m (or is it a typo of 3 hr 30 m ?)
  • Ancient yoga system states -If you can stay in any asana for 3 hours 36 minutes easily being absolutely comfortable (in a stable manner without movement), this is asana siddhi. However, Sadaguru has reduced its time limit to 2.5 hours.

12 h
  • At the end of culmination of the Asanas one is expected to attain what is known as Asana Siddhi or Asana Jaya. Asana Siddhi when the practitioner can maintain a posture for 12 hours at a stretch. Asana Siddhi is usually attained for meditative postures such as Siddhasana, Padmasana, Swastikasana and Vajrasana.

  • It is a particular posture of the body where a yogi or person can sit continuously for 3 hours without any pain in the body. Basically, a person must be capable of sitting in a particular posture with ease to perform dhyana (meditation). Out of the asanas Padmasana is best for meditation.

Asana siddhis: If a person gets asana siddhi most of his bodily disease will be gone and he will get good physical health.
