There is a book called "Pirith Potha" in Sri Lanka.
What is the origin of this?

Was the "Pirith Potha" compiled from Tipitaka?
The reason I raise this question was, that there is a belief in Sri Lanka that chanting Pirith has many benefits such as increase your wealth and free from diseases name a few.
