kid's movie (Mahajanaka Jataka: Aditthana Parami) ENG sub

Post by Ontheway »

Just sharing here. It is the Mahajanaka Jataka tale from Suttanta Pitaka. The Bodhisatta, that time was named "Mahajanaka", was practice and fulfilling Aditthana Parami (Perfection of Determination).

It is a movie for kids, Thai language but with ENG subtitles.
Hiriottappasampannā,
sukkadhammasamāhitā;
Santo sappurisā loke,
devadhammāti vuccare.

One mistake, it is not Aditthana Parami. It was Viriya Parami.

But I think the video story wasn't a complete one...because according to the Jataka scripture, when he is old, King Mahajanaka left his kingdom and becomes an Ascetic.

The story was told in reference to the Buddha’s Renunciation.

Manimekhālā is identified with Uppalavannā,
Nārada with Sāriputta,
Migājina with Moggallāna,
the girl with Khemā,
the fletcher with Ananda,
Sīvalī with Rāhulamātā,
Dīghāvu with Rāhula,
while Mahājanaka was the Bodhisatta (J.iii.30 68).
The Jātaka exemplifies viriya-pāramitā.
