many have no interest in declaring false attainments. in MN 61, the Lord Buddha crucified his son Rahula if he uttered false speech. your hundreds of posts on myriad forums & blogs are not about any type of real jhana i know or have heard of
There is always an official executioner. If you try to take his place, It is like trying to be a master carpenter and cutting wood. If you try to cut wood like a master carpenter, you will only hurt your hand.

According to the video of baby capybara in link, it may be termed animals' jhana , rather than the first jhana.

Even animal jhana is better than vism "real first jhana".
Animal jhana can hunt and catch food to survive, feed themselves and their children.
vism. "jhana" can't even do vipassana.

but not at the same time.
And that causes huge problems with how monastics do their main practice.
I've spend 10 years in that Vism. system and have witnessed hundreds, if not thousands of earnest diligent meditators suffering needlessly because they're following a misguided approach.
They spend years chasing a pure samatha, while neglecting the vipassana that would happen organically, holistically, and simultaneously with developing jhanas according to the EBT suttas.

Such cruelty and lack of respect for other living creatures is truly disgusting.

Mindfulness in Plain English, gives a list of items that meditation isn't (a list of 11 misconceptions).
1) Meditation is just a relaxation technique.
2) Meditation means going into a trance.
etc

So one does vippassana only in access not in jhana, doesn't one ?

Can you point to suttas that express this opinion?
