Any retreats next year?

Post by salayatananirodha »

I am considering a meditation retreat next year. I have some paid time off. Especially thinking about January — I may just stay at home and try to be mindful or productive but are there any good retreats (non-heretical) that I should consider

Insight meditation society in Massachusetts USA might be or maybe staying a couple weeks at a temple.
Take care of mindfulness and mindfulness will take care of you.

If you don't mind staying at home and have sufficient self-discipline, you might want to consider an online retreat. Several organisations and teachers have been "perfecting" them over the past couple of years.

That would give you a wider set of options when looking around.

Staying at home does not sound ideal. But I’ll look into insight center

One person said the goenka retreat you are mostly by yourself or being quiet so that sounded good

I'm thinking on conducting a short online one (English) in April. No set date yet.

Super, how long are you going for? Is it a formal retreat?

Enjoy!
The best advice I have is: take a wristwatch or alarm clock and hand you phone in for safekeeping. Your phone will destroy your retreat completely.
Flight mode is not sufficient, nor is simply turning it off.

Avoid goenka retreats sala, they have been infiltrated and corrupted since the old boy passed. The video teachings of mrG are spot on but the centres have been compromised and are currently not teaching dhamma in its pristine purity and in all honesty If you do not recieve the teachings in purity you are wasting time and risk confusion.

I think???? The dhamma centre in Texas might have remained pure but quite frankly the entire global operation disgusts me.

I am an old student of Goenka G for 15 years.
