What does it mean in practical terms? One in Nirodha Samapatti ceased feelings and perceptions, but is also conscious of this state, since the 5 senses are "clear"?
[/ quote]
Probably the best description is given in the Vimuttimagga:
https://archive.org/details/ArahantUpat ... 5/mode/2up
[/ quote]
... Then passing beyond two or three turns of consciousness, he causes the perishing of mind and enters into the Unborn and the Unmanifest*. This is called the entry into the attainment of the dissolution of perception and sensation ...
"Is this attainment conditioned or unconditioned?": One should not say that this attainment is conditioned or unconditioned. Q. Why should it not be said that his attainment is conditioned or unconditioned? A. There is no put-together state ** in this attainment. The entry into and exit from the unconditioned state cannot be known ***. Therefore it cannot be said that this attainment is conditioned or unconditioned.
* that is mind is perish and enter nibbana state
** that is there is no condition dhammas
*** but this attainment itself is not the nibbana becose it's temporary nature
Conclusion is: nirodha s. is a preconditioned state in wich "experiencing" uncodition nibbana through perishing of mind
Is there consciousness in Nirodha Samāpatti?
