This type of self-help isn't really relevant to the dhamma, unless you're talking about cutting off craving and unwholesome thoughts, perceptions and emotions. In which case, you can do that right here and now. So you don't really need to "go get it", you can just do it right now in your mind.

That's the way, sadhu, good householder. "Protect your deams (refuge, perception of release)" and "You want it? Go and get it." Why limiting it to fragile relations, if not the family of Noble Ones, relation with it, is meant by the section here?
