Hi Sam Vara: I was just blown away by your analysis of Samudaya and Uppajjati.
I read a comment of yours on DW, this afternoon that goes like...
Elsewhere, as in AN 11.2, wholesome states that are wished for are uppajjati throughout;
whereas not just suffering, but "things that entail suffering" in SN 35.244 are samudaya.
This seems as far as I can see to be a fairly standard usage throughout suttas, although the PTS dictionary and Warder give them as near synonyms. I had thought of this as the Second Noble Truth formulation influencing subsequent usage, but that's just a guess.
I finally understood the difference between Uppajjati and Samudaya,
by studying AN 11.2 and SN 35.244.

regarding Samudayo...
You guessed right, PTS dictionary is just a dictionary, but I don't want to get into the details here, since folks are having a welcome party here.

I am delighted that you are here, with your commendable knowledge of Pali. You don't merely analyze, you do it methodically by bringing in precious and relevant sutta examples.
It adds another dimension to the translation.
All the Best,
With love :candle:
