How do monks shave?

Discussion of ordination, the Vinaya and monastic life. How and where to ordain? Bhikkhuni ordination etc.

Best way to shave for me, is shaving 1 time per week.

You're lucky! I start to look unkempt after 2 days and hairier people even sooner! :tongue:

As I see it, it's not just a forest tradition interpretation. Ven Thanissaro is going by the four great standards to arrive at that understanding. But of course any temple or monastery can have very different ideas.

I generally shave just before every uposatha with an old-fashion double-edge safety razor, followed by a Gillette Mach5 for a cleaner and closer shave.
