Probably used to being worshiped by laypeople & averse to being challenged (unlike the Buddha). It seems Theravada guru monasticism is all about diversity, with monks differentiating their teachings, seeking to attract their own audience.

At least it's good you say "probably"! You can challenge him anytime you like by email or on Jitsi where we meet regularly (not to challenge each other though, more to learn from each other).

Thanks. It is important to share the knowledge of monks who do not wish to be in forums or even for monks who do not speak English. I try my best to share the knowledge of some Sri Lankan monks who do not speak English or do not wish to be in forums.

At last a correct reading of Buddha's message, on many issues.
À rarity indeed.
I would not say that I agree with the too often excursive unecessary ramblings; but this bhikkhu seems to teach the right Dhamma, as far as restraint is concerned.

Would you happen to know where he was ordinated?
