Buddha did not compose the Pali dictionary
And most definitely not you, who said "Citta is used to describe that which is liberated". No such thing there in the dictionary.

If so, the dictionary contradicts the suttas and supports my post that the dictionary is not the Buddha.
citta2
neuter

I. Meaning
the heart (psychologically), i.e. the centre & focus of man’s emotional nature as well as that intellectual element which inheres in & accompanies its manifestations; i.e. thought.
Rather, the goal, heartwood, and final end of the spiritual life is the unshakable freedom of heart.
Yā ca kho ayaṃ, bhikkhave, akuppā cetovimutti—etadatthamidaṃ, bhikkhave, brahmacariyaṃ, etaṃ sāraṃ etaṃ pariyosānan”ti.

That is what the Buddha said.
Idamavoca bhagavā.

MN 29
There is always an official executioner. If you try to take his place, It is like trying to be a master carpenter and cutting wood. If you try to cut wood like a master carpenter, you will only hurt your hand.

You have provided nothing, no link or literature to back up what you said about citta: "Citta is used to describe that which is liberated". You've only shown cetovimutti, not citta. Just show exact reference for Citta please.

But i did. :roll: I quoted MN 29
The limitless heart’s release, and the heart’s release through nothingness, and the heart’s release through emptiness, and the signless heart’s release: do these things differ in both meaning and phrasing? Or do they mean the same thing, and differ only in the phrasing?”

“Yā cāyaṃ, āvuso, appamāṇā cetovimutti, yā ca ākiñcaññā cetovimutti, yā ca suññatā cetovimutti, yā ca animittā cetovimutti—ime dhammā nānātthā ceva nānābyañjanā ca udāhu ekatthā byañjanameva nānan”ti?

NO you did not. That's cetovimutti, a specific use/context of citta. You have not shown what Citta is. :roll:

Do you even know the difference between citta and cetovimutti? Why do you keep automatically assume citta as cetovimutti?? :roll: And let's put Pali aside since it seems to be way above your head, in plain English, why do you assume "mind" to automatically mean "liberated-mind"?

U are only asking questions rather than presenting answers. Your posts appear to be merely spam.

Citta = ceto

For example:
Anavassutacittassa,
ananvāhatacetaso;
Puññapāpapahīnassa,
natthi jāgarato bhayaṃ.

For the one with mind free of lust, for the one with mind unperplexed,
for the one who has abandoned making merit and demerit, for the watchful, there is no fear.

Stop spamming this thread. I ask very specific questions. And you dodge them as always. But don't you worry, I'll keep repeating them to show where you go wrong:

1. Do you know the difference between citta and cetovimutti?

2. In plain English, why do you assume "mind" to automatically mean "liberated-mind"?

Sorry but all your questions are answered. As always, you provide no answers, nor any refutation. :smile:

:rolleye: My post about cetovimutti to the OP is unrelated to anything you posted.

Nope, you have not answered any of my specific questions. And to make it exceedingly simple for you, I've provided the check boxes for you to enter 1 single keystroke below, ok?

1. Do you know the difference between citta and cetovimutti? Yes[ ] No[ ]

2. Do you know the difference between "mind" versus "liberated-mind"? Yes[ ] No[ ]

Other than in contemplation of mind in foundation of mindfulness?

Hi Santa100

Your ideas from Hollywood appear to be about vinnana rather than citta. :redherring:
