Therefore, I agree with the followings :
The Buddha said anyone who adds or subtracts from his teachings has wrong view.
There are many people on this forum who have the wrong interpretation of the dhamma.

- Abhidhamma followers
- Vissuddhimagga followers
Have you read either of these texts?
I am concentrating on Buddha suttas as a beginner to get a perfect foundation of the Dhamma.
Hence, I have not read nor dwell into texts which are not originated from the 5 nikayas which are Perfect and Complete

As I thought. So you don’t know if they have wrong views in them or not.

understanding it has the nature of a mirage,
cutting off Māra’s flower-tipped arrows,
one should go beyond the King of Death’s sight.”

No you don’t because you haven’t even read them so you have no idea what they say. It’s like saying the books of Ajhan Chah have wrong view without ever having read them, or any other Buddhist monk or nun.

Dear Dhamma friends,

We know Samsara is the cycle of birth, death and rebirth till the cita attains Nivana.
Question :
Where is the origin of the cita.
Where did the cita arise from the beginning although we know where the Enlightenment is the ultimate journey.
Is it the simile of the Big Bang where creation of the universe started from nowhere
May someone enlighten this question.
Thank you.

Origin based on time is wrong view, the Buddha could not get to the origin based on time.

Right View is origin based on presently occurring causes, nutriments and mechanisms.

Consciousness is fueled by the asavas (tendencies) and intention.

Its All In the Mind

Post by Chew SK »

I am holding the 5 precepts as closely as I can and observing the 6 sensual doors of its LIKEs and DISLIKEs ; Eyes, Ears, Nose, Mouth, Body and Mind.
The Mind I found is the Master to the other 5 doors.
As layties, we are subjected to the external world of umpteen influences in our livelihood, in our personal ( family as I think social can be avoided ) and working life ( to earn a living ).
It is the Mind which decides to stay on track in our Dhamma practice or stray under duress, stress in our personal and work pressures.
Its so challenging.
The bottomline to stay on track is MINDFULNESS.
To attain, its the meditation practice which is not easy.
The prelude to be able to meditate is to practise ' Here and Now ' in observing every bodily movement to concentrate the ' realtime ' and free the mind from thinking. This, of course, is during the time when we have out of the working and family time which mandates our thinking.
All said, the only charter to have 100% of time to dedicate is to ordain.
A challenge at some point of our life to decide when the possibility is open.

Chew SK,

This is supposed to be an introduction thread, not your personal blog. For new subjects, please start a new thread, don't place them here in your intro thread. Thanks.

When we get time, we might move some of the posts here to their own thread.

Dear Site Admin,

Thank you for your feddback.
Firstly my apologies if I had step out of the rules due to ignorance.
I have no intention of a harnessing a personal blog in this Dhamma Wheel but to purely share Dhamma thoughts.
May I ask what is the meaning of ' introduction thread ' and a ' new thread ' which you are referring so that I would be better aware of sharing the Dhamma contents.
Thank you for your kind understanding.
