Is it true that a Pen hurts more than a Sword?
If it's so, then the same is true for Words.
Based on this, we can see, carefully observing a corrupted world, armed people with invisible weapons, everyone has its own weapons and uses them at it's own discrection without regret. Through words, harsh, unwise, distracted, malicious, people hurts each other, blood flows, and there is little or no consciousness of the suffering both of the offender and of the offended.
Big ignorance, about having hurted and about having been hurted and bleeding.
Big and profound hypocrisy, rejecting the idea of having hurted and rejecting the idea of having been hurted and bleeding.
In a heavenly world, people turn arrows into flowers.
In a hellish world, people turn flowers into ash.
Such is the importance of correctly spreading Dhamma.

I'd prefer harsh words to a sword, personally.

Re: Hostility and Dhamma
Harsh speech — when indulged in, developed, & pursued — is something that leads to hell, leads to rebirth as a common animal, leads to the realm of the hungry shades. The slightest of all the results coming from harsh speech is that, when one becomes a human being, it leads to unappealing sounds.
