What is more reliable? Visuddhi Magga or Vimuttimagga?

True, that quote really made Vimuttimagga's appearance bad and doesn't reflect Buddhist value.
That's a wrong and misguiding translation of this passage. Ven. Nyanatusita provides correct interpretation in his new translation of the Vimuttimagga, on page 118.
