Dhammanupassna Part 6 – section on the five aggregates (khandha pabba)
The aggregate of formations (Sankharakhandha) as a part of satipatthana-dhammanupassana.

The interesting point is Dhammanupassana is the 50 Cetasika in Abhidhamma.
Again this is a good video for people who argue that Abhidhamma is useless and not the teaching of the Buddha.

Abhidhamma in practice.

Pay special attention to counter 41:10 the description of Vinnanana. Unusual description not heard before.

Dhammanupassna Part 7 – section on the six sense bases (ayatana pabba)
Sense bases (ayatana), with stress on internal (ajjhatta) – external (bahiddha) and fetters (sanyojana), as a part of satipatthana-dhammanupassana

Funny story about how people get internal and external wrong.

Dhammanupassna Part 8 – section on the enlightenment factors (sambojjhanga pabba)
Gradual development of satipatthana practice culminating with enlightenment factors (sambojjhanga),.
Conclusion of Dhamma talks devoted to satipatthana sutta.
Finally, someone made a discourse on Satipathana make sensible.
Ven Pemasiri very clearly mentioned he is not an Arahant.
But he never said he is not an Anagami.
As far as I understand, this is the closest I got to hear from Arahant or one very close to it.
Sadhu, Sadhu, Sadhu

It is pretty incredible the knowledge and wisdom of Vinitha. ( the translator)
He basically translated all that Ven Pemasiri talked into English. (almost word to word without losing the meaning)
So do not doubt the translation.
The only thing that you miss is the subtle humor of Ven. Pemasiri.

About sense restraint and dangers of unguarded sense door, ref. Adittapariyaya sutta (SN IV, Salayatana samyutta, sutta number 235).
Secondary features (Anu Vyanjana)

With very interesting stories.

Distinguishing ‘perversion’ of view (ditthi vipallasa.), ‘perversion’ of perception (sañña v.) and p. of mind (citta v.), with examples on their practical workings.
Perversion is a difficult subject for me so I could not follow it in total.
However very interesting story for you.

Five Mara:
1)Mara a divine/celestial being
2)Mara of 5 aggregates
3)Mara of defilements
4)Mara of higher formations and
5)Mara of death.

This is a generic Dhamma talk. However, he ended it with a twist in the last five minutes.
Is what other religions called soul, the Buddhist called Bhava, Kamma, etc?
I would call it ignorance.

Perhaps the difference is what Buddhists called Kamma and Bhava etc are not immortal.

Levels of Sati in practice
Development of the practice, starting with establishments of sati (satipatthana) along the roads to power (iddhi pada), spiritual faculties (indriya), spiritual powers (bala) culminating in the enlightenment factors (sambojjhanga), rounded of with the eightfold noble path (ariya atthangika magga); with focus on describing the differences of levels of sati and other wholesome qualities.
Do you always wonder why there are so many kinds of Sati in the 37 factors of enlightenment?
Even though the Noble Eightfold Path is the last in the 37 factors of enlightenment what Sati started is from the Samma Sati in NEFP.

Four Noble Truths:
Explanation of terms: ‘noble’ (ariya) truth (sacca) and specifically ‘suffering’ (dukkha), ‘origination’ (samudaya), ‘cessation’ (nirodha), ‘path’ (magga) and the matrix of ‘specific characteristic’ (lakkhana), ‘taste/functionality’ (rasa), ‘estabilishing/way it is experienced’ (paccupatthana) and ‘its immediate cause/base’ (padathana).
Interesting description of Fout Noble truths.

More practical points on the path of practice and its usual caveats. References from MN: Short discourse on the cowherd, Great discourse at Ghosinga forest, One excellent night discourse
Balancing the faculties.
Venerable Pemasiri says that even a monk can't live without sensual pleasures.

Interesting story of a man who condemn to death by hanging but practice Vipassana in the prison and later suspended the sentence three days before the hanging.
Later he was released from prison and became a monk and became an Abhidhamma and Sutta teacher.
However, he confessed to Ven Pemasiri that he never killed a man but happen to be near the incident as an on-looker.

It appears Ven Pemasiri was one of the pioneers of the Vipassana movement in Sri Lanka in the 1950s.
It seems in the 1950s, many Sri Lankans did not believe that you can attain Nibbana in this very life.
They all expected the appearance of the Mettiya Buddha.
He discusses the arrival of the first Burmese monks and the difficulties and spread of the Vipassana movement.
He also discusses the disappearance of the practice of Brahma Vihara due to the Vipassana movement.
He expresses his regret for one of them to be blamed for this.

Venerable Pemasiri very decisively says that one can't understand the deep teaching of Sutta Pitaka and interpret the Vinaya Pitaka without having at least some basic knowledge of Abhidhamma.

Venerable Pemasiri said that the Buddha is not your teacher.
The way I understood, your teacher is the one who ordained you. (say, preceptor?)

Venerable Pemasiri said that he said to the lady Upasikas if it is OK to apply nail polish.
In this video, he is talking about aging, sickness, and death.
