Hi Folks...
Just joined here, but long time follower of the Theravada School "flavour" of the Buddha's teachings.
Thanks to Retrofuturist for pointing me here, although I think somewhere way back in my own history, I think I may have already browsed some of these pages during my journey into understanding what is arguably the most important philosophy in human history, that is:
1) To understand with 100% clarity what the Buddha described and meant by the 4 Noble Truths.
2) Understanding that accepting this concept brings you to total peace and tranquility.
3) Knowing that's it's not just about you. Forget about you. It's not important.
4) Accept whatever happens. Now and when you die. Whether you go up a rung, or down one, just accept it.
True understanding of the cessation of Dukkha is not an easy concept to grasp, and it is made worse by wanting it.
Remember - craving and grasping is the cause of Dukkha.
Just be - and you are halfway there.
Best regards, - Tom.
