Can you point out where the Buddha taught this?
Pronouns (no self / not self)
“Peace is within oneself to be found in the same place as agitation and suffering. It is not found in a forest or on a hilltop, nor is it given by a teacher. Where you experience suffering, you can also find freedom from suffering. Trying to run away from suffering is actually to run toward it.”

No… it’s a theory

an idea used to account for a situation or justify a course of action.

Let me get this straight, Sam Vara recently posted for discussion from a teacher clarifying an aspect of practicing the Buddhas teaching, your response was "Buddha is the teacher of Buddhism" as if to say you are wasting your time listening to these modern teachers you need to go directly to the source.

How is it that the "theories" of cappuccino are not a much greater waste of time?

I think its pretty clear that every one of us is affected by the results of our kamma and have a degree of free will in how we respond to it. Its not the cards you are dealt its how you play them, we can choose to practice, or not.

Does anyone knows about Milinda Panha:

It's a while and interesting debate about the Soul, reborn and Anata.

In the 2nd arupa jhana you attain omnipresence. In the 3rd arupa jhana you lost your consciousness. The only thing left in the 3rd arupa jhana is your soul. In the 4th arupa jhana you lose your soul.
reality is not shaped by your mind, if this was the case there won't exist right view and wrong view to begin with (doh)

Sounds inviting, doesn't it?

My favorite!! If I have a child, I
will name my child: "Nāgaseno".

By reading Milindapañho, we will understand
(more) about "soul, rebirth, nibbāno, etc." There
are certainly many other books, but Milindapañho
is extraordinary.

Just reading mostly the heading of the topic (which just triggered my awareness) I would point out that a nice way to see it is to compare the soul to the Moon in the sky which is always taking into condiseration the growth, diminishing and other movements related to it (as the soul is usually seen as in a way of light but not too defined). So would be the moon!

Just the thought which is arising!

:toast:

Like the growing and diminishing moons, shaking hands and smiling in both ways!
