retreat opportunities 2023?

Post by salayatananirodha »

i'm looking to go on a retreat early next year
i did two self-directed retreats this year at lion of wisdom and also a retreat at the insight meditation society in barre
i either need free or very low cost accommodations

i got my passport so i can theoretically go anywhere. i don't think i'm interested in residency as opposed to a retreat, because it seems this would be much busier.
after the improvements i've made this year i think a retreat could really do well to advance my practice. i can be off work for three to four weeks.

how about going for the "real thing" and stay at a forest monastery for 3-4 weeks?

Sāsanarakkha is worth considering.

U Aggacitta was the interpreter for Sayādaw U Paṇḍita during his 3-month retreat at Barre, Mass.

Perhaps salayatananirodha could say if he wants this thread to remain open?

It will be exceptionally difficult to find a retreat that will accept him in 2023....

it's true that 2023 has passed but i posted a similar thread asking about 2024. i've entertained a few options including sāsanarakkha as mentioned, but i found myself stressed about the decision. international flights are expensive and long. i'm looking at cloud mountain june retreat but not sure about getting off work that long. on waitlist for insight meditation society's may retreat
