Even in Nibbana what you will sense is the Metta of the Awakened Ones.

that’s who I call a brahmin.

As far as I know, they are two different stages.
In progress to stages of enlightenment Sotapanna etc the Noble Eightfold Path has three main categories.
Sila, Samadhi and Panna
In my opinion, Metta comes under Brahmavihara hence it has come under the Samadhi category.
Metta helps you to move to Panna or the stages of enlightenment.
Metta is like an entry requirement for the enlightenment.

If you dont practice metta bhavana but only 4 satipaṭṭhāna , you still able to achieve liberation .
Metta bhavana is optional .

The only emotions buddha had were the 4 brahma viharas.

I dont think they are. Although metta on its own has many great benefits and does help with achieving stages of enlightetnment. kinda like generosity. But its not necessary

If there's something more than Love, Love will not be lost upon attaining it, but will grow upon the Attainment.

It's defenitely part of the noble eightfold path in right thinking non I'll will and non cruelty. Someone who does brahma viharas alone can go to brahma realm, somone who does brahma viharas and mindfulness can realize nibbana. It also elimates greed and hate because brahma viharas are other worldly pleasant feelings which decreases hedonism and they're also the opposite of hate.
Take care of mindfulness and mindfulness will take care of you.
