Re: Against massive quotes

Greetings,

Thanks bhante. I'll bring those plug ins to David's attention and see if it's something he (and his tech expert) recommends installing. I personally have no problem with the current quote system, but it does take a little while to learn the syntax, so anything that can make it easy for people to quote without over-quoting is worth a look.

Metta,
Paul. :)
"The uprooting of identity is seen by the noble ones as pleasurable; but this contradicts what the whole world sees." (Snp 3.12)

"Why now do you assume 'a being'? Mara, have you grasped a view?" (SN 5.10)

"Overcome the liar by truth." (Dhp 223)

it takes half a second to scroll thru these 'giant' quotes. sounds like an overly anal suggestion
16. 'In what has the world originated?' — so said the Yakkha Hemavata, — 'with what is the world intimate? by what is the world afflicted, after having grasped at what?' (167)

17. 'In six the world has originated, O Hemavata,' — so said Bhagavat, — 'with six it is intimate, by six the world is afflicted, after having grasped at six.' (168)

- Hemavatasutta

It also takes half a second to pass diarrhoea. So much for anal retentiveness.
