Are upacara samadhi(access concentration) and ditthadhammasukhavihara(pleasant abiding here and now) the same thing?

From what I understand both are precursors to jhanas and appear to be described the same ways.

I've always thought of upacara samadhi to be a precursor to jhanas in the process, whereas the "pleasant abiding" refers to the use the meditator might make of the experience. But that's just based on what I heard someone say, rather than looking at how the phrases are used.

Yes, that is how I understand it.
I also heard that when you come out of Jhana too you have the Upacara Samadhi.
The way I understand that the Upacara Samadhi is a Jhana state and the pleasant abiding here and now is a Vipassana state.

I may be wrong.
