Re: Sound of singing bowl for meditation and better sleep
It is not the correct method of meditation taught by the Buddha.
Even when sitting in silence, in a quiet place, there are plenty of sounds to observe and note. The purpose of Buddhist meditation is to gain insight into the true nature of phenomena.
To get better sleep, practise loving-kindness meditation before sleeping.

In a sense it was.
With regards to ear, sounds and ear-consciousness (the meeting of the three) feeling arises. If one remains equanimously mindful of ear feelings as they arise and pass (anicca) liberation is possible.
Continuous awareness of anicca is transformative.
It doesn’t matter if the sound is ‘unnatural’.
