Members' signatures

Following discussion, the moderators have decided that it would be a good idea to limit the size of members' signatures - both in terms of length, and font size. Anything above a certain length and conspicuousness becomes something of a distraction, especially when the actual post made is shorter and smaller than the signature.

We thought that a limit of 200 characters would be reasonable, and indeed most existing signatures consist of fewer than 200.

So please could those members with signatures attached to their profile have a quick look and see whether their signature needs modifying? We will change the settings in a week's time (i.e. Monday 11th September) which will mean that unchanged signatures of over 200 characters, or with very large font, will be "cropped" or deleted by the change.

Just a reminder that we will be changing the settings for signatures today, as per the preceding post. You may wish to make some changes before the limit becomes 200 characters.
