Decades ago I had similar experiences when I had little theoretical knowledge about Buddhism and Buddhist meditation, but I meditated anyway. The experiences stopped after a while when I stopped meditating for a prolonged period of time. I stopped because at the time I couldn't find anyone who could teach me what to do.

On hindsight and after reading up on the teachings of the Thai Forest Buddhist tradition masters, I believe:
1) Best to find someone who has had similar experiences and has resolved it
2) If you can't find anyone, you need to use your own ingenuity and experiment until you find your own solution, like what Ajaan Mun did. 🙏
