How to eliminate self-view? Wash the feet of anyone with your tounge?

How to eliminate self-view? Wash the feet of anyone with your tongue?
Notorious Ven. Samanthabadra made this latest claim.
What is Buddha's advice on how to eliminate self-identification?

Sounds more like extreme asceticism. You over come the atta delusion by an epistemological understanding, not through debasement.

understanding it has the nature of a mirage,
cutting off Māra’s flower-tipped arrows,
one should go beyond the King of Death’s sight.”

I know I'll regret asking this, but why does the monk call himself Samantabhadra?
What is the Uncreated?
Sublime & free, what is that obscured Eternity?
It is the Undying, the Bright, the Isle.
It is an Ocean, a Secret: Reality.
Both life and oblivion, it is Nirvāṇa.

To focus on one's own faults and not those of others?

Look at what one is doing to develop morality, concentration, and insight by following the only-way, cultivating the four foundations of mindfulness.

I wonder this Samantabhadra monk is still a Theravadin or not...and I am curious too, why would he named himself 'Samantabhadra'? Inspired to take the name?

It seems Samantabhadra is the primordial Buddha in Vajrayana tradition and He has a female consort named Samantabhadri. Both often depicted having sex on a lotus flower.

What an abomination. :computerproblem:

No. Only the Arahant is free from the fear of death. However, a Stream-winner is free from the fear of falling into the four lower realms. He or she is free from unlimited suffering in the infinite cycle of rebirth, but still has to face suffering of seven more existences. The Arahant only has to face the suffering of the remaining life-span in the current existence: suffering such as hunger and thirst, physical pain, disease, and so on. He or she sufferings physically, but not mentally because of liberation from all craving and aversion.
In the Nibbāna Dīpanī, Ledi Sayādaw wrote:The Simile of the Prisoner Receiving Amnesty
A judge sentenced a criminal to life in prison. After four or five days, he got an amnesty order that he would be released after only seven days with effect from sunrise. The imprisonment for life that he would have had to endure is appeased at the same time as getting the amnesty order. The cessation of suffering was attained not only after seven days. He felt very delighted with the thought, “I have only seven more days of suffering. I am already free from that future suffering of a life in prison.”

He did not do it but he is asking others to do it.
That is why I made a comment in the video.

No. This only reinforce the view that the self is inferior to others!

For example being forced to lick the feet of the potential executioner on pain of death.

You don’t eliminate self view by groveling.
And what is right speech? Abstaining from lying, from divisive speech, from abusive speech, & from idle chatter: This is called right speech.

Actually, this is what I like to discuss.
For instance, monks suppose to bow down to senior monks.
How does this differ from what this monk suggests?

If a monk is unable to bow, this suggests he still has an ego. Humility isn’t groveling. It all depends on the context, I suppose.

Pope Francis I feel is genuine in washing the feet. That’s an act of humility.

I think the public display of humility once a year or so is a publicity stunt.
However, if a person does this all the time it is humble.

It is a bit off...but I don't see Lord Buddha ever bow to someone after Enlightenment.
