...Good Brahman, because at the time when one serves another faith increases, virtue increases, hearing increases, giving away increases, wisdom increases. Because (this) service is the cause, the Tathagata declares: proper to serve this one...

While serving acts to increace Nissaya to gain relation, within a community it's already duty, a matter of virtue. Neither going after gaining relation, nor maintaining by looking after duties, common folk, serving Mara, sensuality and common identification, are fare off, do not come near boarderlands.
