He first learns meditation from a school teacher.
His village temple monk used to print counterfeit money, used illicit drugs, and own guns.
He also talks about his mother being a Christian and how he started practicing Christianity, Hinduism, and Islam.

One who has knowledge in other religions can benefit in learning budda darma . Even the bible has information about vingnana and its variations explained in mahanidana sutta. Corinthian 15 ,explain about the formation of birds by vingnana. Bible too eexplain karma , with simple language , you reap what you sow. Many other types of darma is explained , but not read by the needed. However today cause and effect or paticca samuppada remains most rigid theory in life to dwell in to knowledge .
I had the opportunity of learning most religions comparatively by living and working in a multi religious and multinational island in the south pacific. I was subjected to be converted by many religious institutes, which made me learn buddha dharma to argue better with them.

What is Sati, Jhana, Samadhi, Manasikara, Yonisomanasikara, Sati?
I have not heard anyone explain this so clearly.

Venerable Pemasiri mentioned that the Samadhi is Kamavacara and Jhana is Rupavacara.
According to him, Samadhi leads to Jhana,

In this video, Venerable Pemasiri said that all four foundations of mindfulness have the Samatha and the Vipassana aspect.
This is another strong suggestion that four Satipathana arise together.

Also, he gave a very clear explanation of what is internal, external, and internal-external.

Counter 43:18 He made another interesting point that Eight Fold Path was there before Buddha's time. But please note that it was translated incorrectly into English. The translater translated it as right but venerable did not use the word right but the translator corrected it later.

Another interesting point was that Cula Sotapanna can fall back.

Counter 51:54 you can hear the Muslim prayers in the background. :spy:

What is pleasant abiding here and now?
What are knowledge and vision? Can the yogi develop night vision? How do yogis develop a long-distance vision?
What is developing Sati and clear comprehension?

etc.

Sotapanna has the notion of an impermanent self.

In this video Ven. Pemasiri mentioned that Upanishad contains the teaching of ignorance and the Eightfold Path.
In his opinion, these are the teaching of Pcceka Buddhas.

At counter 48:00 he said that in Kanduboda they do not ordain young children.

Venerable Pemasiri discusses the connection between the five hindrances and the five spiritual faculties.
Very good discussion.
Please note what it means by sloth and torpor.
It is the disliking for wholesome action or Kusala. Counter 17:40
At counter 59:00 he argues with Ven Vinitha (Checz monk) that there is nothing called wrong mindfulness (Mitya Sati) Then Ven Vinitha said it is in Sutta. Ven Pemasir also said there is no wrong wisdom and wrong release. After that, he was joking about it.

What is Nibbana?
Counter 11:18 is a very interesting interpretation that I never heard of.
He also said that the Goenka and Mahasi methods are wrong!
In this video, he says that he has not attained Nibbana but he claimed ( towards the end of the video) that he has the Satisampajanna.

You always wonder about the differences between Sila, Pamojja, Pithi, and Sukha
Venerable Pemasiri gave a practical example.
Sila = Having money
Pamojja = You see something always you want to buy
Pithy = You bought what you want
Sukha = You enjoy what you bought
