Hi there! I'm so pleased to see this website is up and running! Years ago, I was a somewhat regular on here (under a different username), so now here I am again!
My name is Brianna, I live in Nashville, TN but am from Rhode Island. I'm 35, married 4 years to my wonderful wife Lauren. We have a 7 year old daughter and 5 cats
I've been a practicing Buddhist (primarily Theravada) for years, and in recent years have really put my philosophies on hold while I struggled with my mental health and sobriety. Now I've been sober over 5 years and free from a mental health episode for 4 years.
My wife has been exploring Hinduism lately (she was raised in a very traumatic ultra-Christian environment, so she's on a spiritual quest) since I recommended her read the Bhagavad Gita. Learning about Hinduism with her has reignited my love for the dhamma. It works very well because I tried teaching my wife about Buddhism, but through exploring Hinduism has realized that believes in a creator God (Brahman) and a "soul" (Atman) and moksha. This is where we, of course, differ, but share so many things in common philosophically. We've begun meditating together and it's become such a beautiful part of our lives. I'm teaching my daughter about it, and invite her if she's interested, but always encourage her to find her own path.
In any event, I'm glad to be back and look forward to googling all the Pali words I have to relearn!

Wellcome back!!
You will be so unique because I do not know anyone coming back to the forum after 15 years.
It is good if you can ask the admin to reinstate your old user ID.
It is cool I think.
Please note that this forum is younger than 15 years.
Perhaps you are re-collecting your past life.

Welcome back!
Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.
