Dear Kalyanamittas,

I have gone forth from laylife to the life of a Monk on the Auspicious poornima day (full moon day) on December 7th 2022... . It's a joy to inform you that this body and mind has ordained in the tradition of the Buddha.

A new Dhamma name "Ariyananda" has been given by my preceptor Venerable Bhikkhu Vannasiri (ordained in the Burmese Lineage of Rakhine/Arakan and practised in Myanmar under the guidance of Venerable Pa Auk Sayadaw) at Mahashuddha Aranya Vihar in Ambassa.

A new beginning and purpose to give me an environment of continuous practise and meditation with the sole goal to free this MIND of all suffering. My sincere gratitude to my parents for taking the hard decision of giving me permission to Ordain, to my preceptor, My wonderful World Dhamma Teacher S.N Goenkaji, Kalyanamittas and all beings who have helped arrive until this important junction in Life.

May the civil unrest in Myanmar, Economic crisis in Srilanka and the war in Ukraine, Covid pandemic be over or may the beings develop the strength to face them with the challenges that the world is facing & may face due to Climate Change, May all beings enjoy peace so that they have the necessary environment to practise Dhamma and attain Nibbana.

May All Beings be happy!

I'd love to learn a little more about the monastery you are staying at - I find the website a little confusing. Are all their locations in the Himalayas? It seems at least some English is spoken/understood there?
